The P320 is a solid piece of gear, and Big Army was smart to choose it. Even better, gun counter commandos will push them like crazy, sheeple will buy boatloads of them for absurd prices, and G19s might get somewhat cheaper.

Plus JSOC is still bringing the hate with the G19, so everybody wins.

Now we just need training that will actually teach Snuffy Joe/Josephine how to use their new pistols instead of just load, unload, fire, and clear a stoppage without shooting each other on the square range.

Like so many other occupations, those who want to earn will, and those that don't won't. I'm not so sure uber should have dropped the surge pricing. That would have been a fantastic storm there. Great childhood memories of going to range with my dad and spending all afternoon shooting.

Not so great memories of my childhood of coming home and cleaning every damn gun we shot every damn time, no matter how few rounds we shot through it. Dad seemed to not mind so much, perhaps because he was old enough to drink beer...

I recall one of the WHL guys showing me one with a frigging big nut torqued onto the main rotor head shaft. He called it the "Jesus" nut.

Later I asked on of the Pilots, why they called it the "Jesus" nut.

He looked me straight in the eye, and in the best deadpan West Country accent, said, "Well Rich, mate, if that nut lets go, your last word on earth will be "Oh Jesus."

I am pretty sure he was not kidding.

The (mostly former Marine) pilots I flew with on Black Hawks out of Homestead AFB referred to the same, often. That and too many moving parts.
That said, I was amazed at the performance they could wring out of those machines when we were on an op. Impressive to say the least.

Same program as above, I was working out of the Postsmouth UK office.

We received word that during a test flight, one of our pre-production aircraft went in near the Agusta Factory in Milan.

Apparently the rotor brake engaged prematurely in flight. On this AC, the control rods were of a new, carbon fiber design. Unfortunately, the rods failed due to the heat of the brake, and they were unable to auto-rotate to a landing.

We lost the Chief Test Pilot, copilot, and two engineers. Bad day.

The guys figured it out, though, and the program went on to be highly successful for the Royal Navy.

So yeah, helos are great, until they aren't. Anyone who crews a chopper has my utmost expect. I tried to fly the Sim we supplied (subcontract to CAE Montreal) and it was pretty difficult.

When I was in highschool we had a PhD English teacher guy who would literally slay your submission.

He would give you a topic, two weeks to complete itz it is always 3 pages, 10 point, single spacing. You could submit it at any time and he would correct it and you can resubmit as many times as you want for correcting.

He had a bit red sharpie. Not the fine point but the thick permanent type that would leak through the sheet of paper so you would see a paper that looked like it was stabbed to death.
