I carry a pair or two of the Tuff Ties nylon cuffs in pocket off-duty. http://tufftie.com/index.php/products/
Not ideal compared to a set of good Peerless hinged cuffs, but they'll work in a pinch, I've used them twice. Just a thought as an alternative to reg. cuffs.
I used to carry Peerless hinged and chain cuffs on my belt. They are too small and I often pinched my hands trying to put them on. I recently switched to ASP and carry aluminum hinged and chain from them. Feather light! Lightened my belt up tremendously and are much easier to use since they are larger and the lock set is accessible from either side. They work well on all body types from males with tree trunk wrists to females with very thin wrists. I try not to get wrapped up in the stigma of using aluminum.
Is it "weaker"? Maybe. The locking mechanism is steel and the polyme has steel liners.
Will it break and get me killed? Maybe. But what else won't?
Thanks!
Holster is a quick cover from Rich at CCC. We had to do a little extra shipping back and forth to fit the green laser but Rich was awesome to do business with. I've done some alterations since, added Velcro for a small wedge and also some hook inside the c-clip. Added some loop spots to the belts I most often wear. It helped mitigate the occasional cant wiggle I was having.
Mag carrier is from JMCK. It's the AIWB SPMP. I have one for G17 mags also, awesome investment.
