Seattle is down to about 500 functioning officers. They have many more that are on leave or using vaca. (no intent on coming back)
They run ads with people saying they signed up to work for SPD due to their "progressive values"
The use of force citizen review board includes previously incarcerated fellons
No qualified immunity
Must have permission and oversight for a car persuit in most instances.
The chief was asked about an uptick in shootings and said high-cap magazines as one of the main reasons

To quote Bari Weiss: “Why can’t people just be normal?” This, in reference for far left progressive policies that the bell curve of America sees for the failures that they are.
On a distant tangent, did anyone catch the news that the US Border Patrol has lost almost 25 percent of it’s experienced front line agents since Biden took office and rolled back all the Trump exec orders, thus creating our current border situation? That number is literally outrageous, yet there it is.
Why can’t people just be normal, indeed.

Being cautious on rage-porn, I'd want to see the statistics prior to Biden before making a decision.
Border Patrol has been hemmorhaging agents and has had chronically understaffed stations for a while now...nothing unique to Biden, not to mention we still have to account for the job market situation which has led to personnel shortages fedgov wide, both law enforcement and not.
Lastly, we're hitting the years where the post-9/11 hires are starting to retire, which has a dramatic impact due to the expansion of some of these agencies after 9/11. We are seeing dramatic attrition of experienced agents across all federal law enforcement and national security agencies, and that factor has to be accounted for as these people would all be retiring anyway.

All good points. You have forgotten more about Fed level LE than I ever knew, so I’ll just offer that the stats under both Trump and Obama were reportedly much less dire, probably for myriad reasons as you note. And, that said, the quotes from several articles—including from some guy named Hudak, who was the #2 guy in the BP, cite morale as a major factor in the current exodus numbers. Or so I’ve read.![]()

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying morale isn't a problem.
But if we check the Partnership for Public Service annual employee satisfaction & engagement score, CBP (of which BP is a sub-component) has had an absolute dogshit rating since the survey started in 2005, with the exception of 3 years (under Obama, no less). Additionally, their current score of 55.2 is actually better than under the Trump administration years.

Putting Border Patrol employee satisfaction into finance terms for the nerds on here, CBP is a synthetic CDO:

I can’t remember what he’s making an hour. He was working for another private company but was doing mostly facility transfers. At least with AMR he’s running 911 calls and seeing the Fire guys a lot. He’s a good kid and man now. He’s pretty likable too. He has dyslexia which doesn’t help during testing.
