A college buddy of mine runs a factory-certified cerakote shop. He refuses to cerakote revolver cylinders, says that it can mess with the lockup and timing. I had originally approached him with my project gun because 1) he's a friend, 2) he does good work, and 3) I've used him before. He sent me to Robar.
Back when Robbie Barrkmann ran Robar, he told me the same when I wanted to use Roguard on a S&W 28-2. The cylinder, along with the internals, was finished in NP3.

Mine is Ambein. If I don’t cut the smart phone off after taking Ambein, the big brown truck wheels into my driveway about 3 days later.

To the OP’er, hope everything turns out well. If so, that was a heck of a deal!

Amen to that. No telling what kind of foolishness I would have gotten into.

Not bad at all. Maybe install the breathalyzer keyboard lock device before you get into real trouble?

I'd think the first question that needs answering is: DOES IT SHOOT?

Good question. Everything looks like it should. Heavy ass trigger pull. Firing pin protrudes far enough to set off the primer. I’ll take it to the range on Monday or Tuesday.

She’s prettty rough. Looks like a home cerakote job. The rifling is in bad shape.

Couple questions for you guys in the know.

    1. AGENT, Cobra and DS barrels are the same, correct? Other than the exterior markings.

    2. Is there enough metal in the top strap and the barrel to install a dovetail front and a D&L type rear?

The barrels will all interchange, and I have seen some goofy combos like a .32 NP barrel on a Cobra.

As for the rifling being rough, is it pitted or just dirty/filthy? I like to run a patch with Kroil into a dirty revolver, let it sit overnight, and then run patches through it. Kroil gets under everything (not even sure how it stays in the can) and will get you down to the metal. Even a pitted bore in a revolver can shoot well as long as the crown is not damaged.
