Carried often, shot often. Well, often-ish. More than most. Hasn’t missed a beat yet. The CT’s are getting wonky and are probably due to be replaced.

Nothing special about this thing other than it’s been there when I needed it for over 10 years now - once when I really needed it.

Looks about like mine, except for the CTs on yours, and less finish left on mine.

Does anyone here have any experience with the new "Guardian Grips" from Pachmayr? This is the one with the drop-down feature that gives you a two finger grip for concealment, then you push a button and the extension drops down to give you a three finger shooting grip.

I've never posted pics of this. Issued to my Grandfather in 1957. Given to me a year and a half ago, about a month before he passed away. By far my most cherished possession.

Love how the rubber is worn away on one side. That takes years of carry. Great character and a piece to be proud of.

Just picked up a "new" J today: a clean, early 90's 640. The .38 spec 640 was reintroduced in '90, and my understanding is that by '94 had the uncle mike's boot grips, so this one is tentatively '90-'93 or so, until I can research the serial. Regardless, it's pretty cool:

Hey Stud, it’s a SoCo minimalist kydex; originally made for J-frames and LCRs. Doesn’t look like they’re in business anymore, but they come up from time to time on forums and fleabay. I think I paid $35 shipped. It’s no DSG, but it’s super low-profile. Blends the cylinder right into the inside of the waistband/belt curve AIWB. FWIW.
