Just to clarify that you would be comfortable with 10" of penetration?

It makes a huge difference. 5.56 when it just travels point forward, doesnt do much more than a .22 mag. When a M855 or M193 bullet fragments, the results in tissue are...dramatic. The problem with...
Thats actually pretty impressive, resists plugging and still offers decent expansion from a short barrel none the less.
That does sound strange. Speer 75gr GD should be getting ~2500fps out of a 16" bbl. Considering that IMI is 5.56 pressure and a pretty hot load, Im surprised the other .223 loads were holding close...
ICE spec'd the 64gr gold dot in non-nickle plated brass. I still have some that I brought back in 2010, from what I recall they were loaded to the same velocity as the regular nickle plated stuff....
While this is a hunting thread, not an SD thread, I still prefer the heavier bullet. The same characteristics that make a good barrier blind load apply to hunting aspects as well such as shooting...
Thanks for posting the results. Did you get a chance to test the 75gr Gold Dot by any chance?
Doc, any updates on the research that faster twist barrels produce better terminal effects with expanding bullets?
Any new info on official ballistics tests? It doesnt even show up on speer's LE website.
Any chance of seeing barsto compact and shield 9mm barrels? Id like to give my whole M&P family the barsto treatment :D.
That would be a waste, this youtuber seems to be using clear ballistics which has been stated many times does not give an accurate representation when using high velocity projectiles. Id rather it go...
Where are you finding this stuff in stock?
