    More sad news

    More sad news today - Sheriff Jim Wilson is reporting gun writer and retired USSS Agent Walt Rauch has had a stroke. Details of his condition are not yet available.

    I got to spend some range time with Walt many years ago. He was an absolute gentleman and a wealth of knowledge.

    I remember reading his articles as a young man. He was discussing things like awareness and avoidance thirty years ago.

    I was fortunate to spend 4 days w/ Walt, long ago when Thunder Ranch was still in Texas.
    He was one of the AI's for my class, and as fate had it Walt & I bonded due to a common trait we shared.

    As others already stated, he had much experience, mostly on the LE side w/ the USSS & IIRC the Phila. PD. Some of his experiences/TTPs shared during those 4 days still serve me well & for that I remain indebted to him.

    Here's hoping this was not a major/debilitating event but either way I'll keep a good thought for my friend.
