Similar to my experience with the snake skin. Better at keeping the gun in place than 25 but doesn’t hurt like 20.
I’ll have to keep the advice about customs pricing in mind. While I like the aesthetic features of, for example, Rogers builds, I also love a simple 1911 with only performance relevant work. And I agree that a well used blued gun is its own good look.
I hadn’t thought about foregoing nonessential mods potentially being the difference between affording and not affording a custom (duh…), or about bluing and parkerizing making for easier work down the road. That all makes sense. Also, can’t bluing be redone basically an unlimited number of times, while modern finishes have a limit on how many times you can reapply them? I think I remember reading that about Wilson’s Armor Tuff.
