Another Prime series - LOTR - The Rings of Power

Anybody else a LOTR fan that’s looking forward to this?

Huge LOTR fan since about 1978 who is very scared of what they are going to do to it.

This. Modern adaptations tend to produce more misses than hits. Dramatically more, and the misses aren't close ones. I have minimal faith that this is anything other than Amazon attempting to cash in on Tolkein's work while phoning in the actual work.

Based on Amazon's track record with fantasy series, I expect a homosexual elf sex scene about halfway through.

At this point I'm just hoping it's elves and not dwarves.

Tolkien’s estate kept them on a pretty tight leash. Maybe it will work out; the writers and directors seem to be a bunch of secular muggles, but that was true of Jackson and crew and they didn’t trash it.

I'd rather do dental work on myself then give Amazon a cent.

    I'll just find a book

They came pretty close with Five Armies IMHO……

I share others concerns about the injection of modern sensibilities, most of which run counter to Tolkien’s own as you well know.

The "Hobbit" movies were shockingly bad.
