UGH, right? @OlongJohnson - you’re killin’ me smalls...
I want that gun.
I have zero use for it.
ZERO use for it.
So why do I want it so bad?

oh, duh.
Back when I had a Contender (little brother to the Encore), I played around with a wildcat called 7mmTCU. It was a 223 necked up to 7mm (sound familiar?). It was a neat little cartridge in a 10" single shot pistol. This was before 300BO was a thing.
I wish I had jumped on the cheap 300BO Bergara barrels that were on the market for a while. They were threaded 16" barrels. Now that I have a can on the way "soon", I could really take advantage of the cartridge.

Here's an H&R Survivor .223 with a buy it now of $250. Pretty reasonable price these days. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/872901958
And a .30-06 BIN of $255. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/872952694
There was also a .243 and a .30-30 for $300 which is more than I would like to pay but not out of line with today's market.
Nice.
I own a 1970's Ruger No. 1T in 45-70. I support, appreciate, and look fondly at all single shot rifles. Cheap to not cheap.
There's a zen quality to practicing and performing efficient reloads with a single shot rifle. It's as fun as reloading revolvers (DA & SA)
Good thread.
An old single shot military bolt action would also be kind of fun.
This one would be kind of cool, and Gun Jesus would approve.
