I saw one episode yesterday and still haven't decided what I think about it.
I haven't seen it yet, but I want to..big fan of the movie and books. A couple of members have chimed in, one has already given up, the other says to keep watching and the killing gets intense.

Ronnie Coleman: The King (Amazon Video; Purchased) - Back when I was a fitness junky, Ronnie was a guy I really looked up to. I've long since stopped being a gym rat, but seeing this documentary reminded me of why I held Ronnie in such high regard.

If you're not familiar with the name, Ronnie is only the second person to win the Mr. Olympia title eight times. Here he is making Schwarzenegger look small by comparison:

I saw Ronnie at the store one time when he was in his prime and I literally tripped over myself. Dude's size was fucking unreal.

The documentary covers some of Ronnie's history and I learned a few things about him I didn't know. For instance, I knew he was a cop with the Arlington Police Department, but I did not know he was still working as a cop despite having won Mr. Olympia twice.

I also didn't know about his background in accounting or his present business dealings.

Ronnie still trains like an animal, despite the fact he can't walk without crutches due to a devastated lower back (probably not surprising given the guy would deadlift 600 pounds without a belt). He remains upbeat, positive, and humble, and deals with the health issues with grace.

Overall, a great documentary and easily worth the price if you're a fan.

Back in the day some buddies of mine lived in Arlington, where they frequently had loud parties. One time "the biggest fucking cop I've ever seen" showed up to quiet things down, turns out it was Ronnie Coleman [emoji41]

Torres' two books, Carlito's Way and After Hours, are also worth reading.

That's funny. I'm willing to bet the guy stopped a lot of combative suspects by standing there and frowning.

I just watched Real Genius. That was a blast from the past for me. I was in Jr High when it came out and just KNEW that was what college was going to be like. Yeah, not so much.

Real Genius never really gets its due credit as a cheesy 80s movie. It's not great, but seems perpetually underappreciated.

I'm currently working through The Expanse (middle of season 2). We'll see where they go with the storyline, but this is one of the best Sci-Fi series I've seen.

Watched Anthony Zimmern's Bizarre Food when he did the Pony Express route. He can actually ride a horse and shot that cowboy deal where you ride and shot balloons with a SAA. For a guy from NYC, he is quite the gun guy also.

Watched the first Sicario a few days ago, looking forward to the new one.

    Saw Super Troopers 2...meh

I just finished season 3 of The Expanse.

Let's just say that I'm glad that Bezos had Amazon pick up Season 4.

Range 15 is now on Amazon Prime....time for yet another viewing! I didn't write the review below, but it summed up my feelings perfectly:

    woofinpickle
5.0 out of 5 starsNot for sissies or liberals.
    August 15, 2016
    Format: Amazon Video
After watching Range 15 my beard grew 8 inches, my manhood stood marble hard, and wife became pregnant, gestated for 9mos in front of my eyes, and birthed a cigar smoking, rifle carrying, whiskey swilling bald eagle. I shoot straighter, drink more, and my bench press increased by 25 lbs. That's after one viewing. If you don't enjoy this movie, you might as well join ISIS... you hate America.
