Bari Weiss, NY Times editor resigns with scathing resignation letter

My only experience with her is seeing her on the Joe Rogan podcast a year or so ago, where she kinda made herself look like an idiot for not being able to back up most of the claims she made about Tulsi Gabbard and a few other things. Her resignation letter is worth the read. The left is truly eating itself.

My wife shared it with me this morning. I'm sure the NYTs will do with her what CNN did with Lara Logan or CBS with Cheryl Atkinson but still - it is impossible for anyone with an ounce of free thought to deny what's going on.

It’s interesting to watch this all unfold. It gives some naive hope that more will denounce the narrative and cancel culture leviathan being encouraged and maybe the whole thing will implode and there can be some return to moderate sanity.

...that truth isn’t a process of collective discovery, but an orthodoxy already known to an enlightened few whose job is to inform everyone else...

    Spot on.

Good for her. She should do well at another news outlet.

While I'm sorry for her, the incident is instructive and should be a "teachable moment" for those willing to see.
There's nothing civil about this war.

    True.
I just don't know if anyone has their eyes open.

Covid, as well as the protests and riots, and Trump's responses to them, have energized the far left in a big way.

I don't think that being a more inclusive, resounding with the masses of different populations newspaper is NYT's main goal right now.

The problem is that most people who are willing to see already can see.

The online reactions from the left I can find is that she was a bigot cry baby who needed to go. They’re quite pleased with themselves.

That’s some serious wishful thinking, right there, my principled friend.

The character assassination knives are already out in some of the more liberal-leaning arts and academic forums I participate in. It’s a lot easier to lash out than look inward. JMO.
