A Porsche 911 GT3 isn't cheap, either, relegating it to the hands of the few. What's your point?

Anyhow, gotta go clean my Springfield Professional. You know how those finicky match-grade 1911s are...

    WD40 on tap??
In a sort of ghastly simplicity we remove the organ and demand the function. We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honour and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and bid the geldings be fruitful.” ― C.S. Lewis, The Abolition of Man

Come on Tamara, everyone knows you're supposed to boil the water, not take it straight out of the tap! ;-)

The Coal Creek Armory custom 1911 I took to AFHF in 2010:

I did pretty good on walk-back drills in that class. I may be a mediocre shot, but a pistol that will shoot under an inch at 25 yards with a "glass rod" trigger that breaks under four pounds will make you look okay when all the really good shots around you are shooting striker-fired plastic duty guns.

Still and all, though, I'm toting an M&P9F these days, partly due to mag capacity issues and partly due to the fact that a "glass rod" trigger that breaks under four pounds is hard for me to manage while shooting on the move or on a press-out. If you could guarantee me that the bad guys would come at me one by one and would stand still while I was shooting at them, I'd probably still be packing a 1911...

This one was a touch over $3k

    And a Predator

Another Wilson, a CQB-E 10mm/40S&W combo gun. I got this so I could shoot inexpensive ammo that would reliably work the 1911 platform (the 9 is a little light for a full size 5" gun).

    Next to a Brown SF.

Tamara - NHCs have a lighter than I'd like trigger reset. I like a 5lb trigger pull on my carry 1911s and a good stiff thumb safety.

Ed Brown Special Forces I sent back to have bobtailed.

    Wilson CQB Elite.

    Wilson CQB.

Sadly, I've recently sold the first two. The plane Jane CQB is currently the only 1911 I have.

Tam ... I grew a couple of miles away from Coal Creek Armory. Of course, it wasn't in existance then. I shot there over Christmas while we were back home visiting.

Here are my custom-spec'ed Nighthawk Talon II and SIGARMS GSR XO (which has been gone through and set up by the SIG Custom Shop). We also have a 1911A1 1945 Remington Rand.

Great guns, and I enjoy and admire a 1911, but I'll normally carry, compete and train with a Glock.

    Best, Jon

Delta Elite with a bit of work. Novak night sights, STI trigger, Brown Hardcore lockwork, some other stuff... And the ever-classy skateboard tape on the frontstrap!
