Concur re Hamilton exceeding the intersection of quality and value.

At Hamilton Inc, the retail price between the bracelet and the strap models is only 50.00. For me, that makes it a no brainer to buy it on the bracelet and add a quality non OEM strap down the line and drive on.

FWIW, after the point of sale, an OEM bracelet is 130, a strap is 100.00.

In other news I was offered this Patek 5960 at a reasonable discount in 2019. I didn’t want it then and I don’t want it now

That said they just released a sunburst green dial 5905 fly back chrono a couple days ago. It’s $60k and already I can tell you aren’t in the get one first club and neither am I

I'm in the market for a new watch in the next few months that I can use and abuse in ways I wouldn't do to my only current nice watch (a dress watch). What do you guys think of this?

    I've also been kicking around a BB58.

    Kinda hating you right now.

This version has been near or at the top of my list for a while but an unexpected baby has made it hard for me to justify any more watches for a while.

I love the 300. Would like to add one down the road, almost bought one instead of my Pelagos.

Pelagos for this use. Mine has been a phenomenal workhorse. The SM300 is next on my list, when I start getting serious again.

That would be an excellent choice.

However, try it on the dealer's first. You have to see and feel it on the wrist to be sure it works for you just like you intend it to. Fortunately, at an Omega boutique, if there's one near you, you'll be able to try out a bunch of watches that could fit your intent and desire.

I am partial to Omega as that is my “best” watch.

Having said that, I cannot help but wonder if Tudor (being part of Rolex) will ultimately retain significantly more value over time.

I concur that an Omega AD is likely to have (or readily be able to get) a much larger variety of watches.

As for the particular watch linked, I am not a fan of that patina look absent it being on a more vintage watch.

I fully acknowledge reasonable minds can differ re any “points” I have made above.
