    Form 1 Engravers

    Hey All,

I have an AR-15 I need engraved. Who would we recommend?

I'd just want it to be lasered with the appropriate information on the other side of the magwell, a finish applied over the laser engraved place, and mailed back.

There was a company that I can't recall that was highly regarded. It appears capital armory can do the same thing and I haven't heard terrible things. It seems simple enough.

Is there any known good that we prefer?

    Thanks in advance!
    God Bless,

    Brandon

I wonder if a local trophy shop could do it for you?

Might be way cheaper so as not to have to mail a receiver.

I’m not a good one to ask, though. I just Dremeled my name and address onto my barrel to satisfy requirements.

Not very bright but does lack ambition
I agree with trying to find someone local first. I had an excellent laser engraver in NH who did two items, I hope I can find someone as good here.

I'll second Tarheel State. They were the cheapest by far, very quick to reply to emails, fast turnaround, and they were the only ones who offered the option to engrave in the trigger area. If you send multiple lowers at once, you can save on shipping.

That’s honestly the direction I’m leaning. Cheapest, closest (shipping may or may not be cheaper), and they’ll engrave in the trigger guard with the trigger guard attached.

It seems to have positive reviews and the finished product looks good.

IF the trophy shop has an FFL, they can probably do it. Not many trophy shops have an FFL.

Is a license needed to engage in the business of engraving, customizing, refinishing or repairing firearms?

Yes. A person conducting such activities as a business is considered to be a gunsmith within the definition of a dealer.
