I really like shooting these. Its not mild but it isn't harsh. It kinda rolls.
I was going to ask how they feed. Seems to be a non-issue from the looks of it.
The gentleman Doug Guy who reams cylinders will also open up pistol barrel throats to prevent longer bullets from hitting rifling and preventing chambering. The 255 grain bullet has to be seated deeper. You got the powder charge just right. The slower Unique is the perfect powder. .452 diameter is ideal. The slightly larger diameter also provides a tighter fit that retards bullet setback.
Thread drift: Some bullseye target shooters would set up their 45 ammo so that headspace was established by the bullet hitting the rifling. This reduced variation. Truth is that the extractor determines headspace though that was not a design intention. The extractor comment explains how one can run 380 ammo through a 9mm or 40 S&W ammo through a 10 mm. The essential requirement is loading the rounds in a magazine. Single rounds dropped in the barrel will enter too deeply.
That looks to be a "dandy" load for woods carry... Not sure I saw you mention your source for that SWC, care to share?
I still have close to 100 Matts Bullets 250 gr short Keith designed for the 45acp...I think I am going to load up something similar to what you did and try them in my 625 as well as my DW Specialist..
