I need a Garand. I have a beater M1 carbine that made it's way to Israel at some point. Has the name of whoever it was issued to written on the stock so that's cool.

    I can pee outside.
I bought all of those about 20 years ago.
    The Garand was $500 then.
I have actually spoken (years ago) to Scott Duff about the Garand, he filled in alot of the blanks and discrepancies about IHC's builds.
    It's a very rare one.

Mel Bishop, before he was busted, pretty much confirmed exactly what Duff stated.
    It's a keeper.

The k98k was actually built by a bicycle company

In high school ROTC I was "issued" an IHC Garand.
Used to take it apart blindfolded but usually failed to get the "airplane" in
the right position when trying to get it back together. Had a stock that was
    very red in color.

Should have bought one of them when they were available and cheap.
I ended up with a Springfield made in '43. Bought it off of
Woolworth's. It looked rough but shot well. Used to shoot NRA Highpower
Rifle Matches with it. The AR hadn't taken over the line yet. There were a
few bolt guns and M1AS but mostly M1s.

Even with ears on I could hear the pings made by the ejected en-bloc clips ripple down the line after the
first two shots, and then after a full eight round clip was fired. Fun times!

    Lol,

I started shooting the NRA high power matches with that very Garand.
I actually won 2 Garand matches with it.
Went to a NM AR after that, and quickly dropped that for the m1a.
I'm still in love with the 30 Cal recoil.

About 10 years ago I looked at the Big 5 add one Sunday afternoon and saw they had Garands on sale for $600. I could have knocked an old lady over in the parking lot running out to my truck to drive down to Big 5. They had sold out 2 hours before.
