Following with interest and I will throw a cool video in just because it touches on some of things discussed here:
and it is a cool video!
Was ist das?
I introduce to you our other working model. First we had the Speed Loader Along Belt (SLAB) - now we have the Speed Loader Over Belt (SLOB).
This is prototype 1. Eventually, we want to do at least two versions of the SLOB - one in some form like this with a DCC-style clip. A second type with a long tail that is optimized for the Phlster Engima (the E-SLOB)
After some thinking and working with this proto I realized a few things.
First, unlike other over-the-belt pouches which rely on kydex j-clips the use of a DCC clip lets the pouch be turned around (moving it inboard, as opposed to outboard), improving concealment dramatically. Flipping the clip around lets it function as it normally would (easy on-off). You can also flip the pouch around (outboard) for easier access as a competition pouch.
Second, the next prototype will have adjustable tension and size to allow different speed loaders to be inserted.
Third, we'll work on some improvements but the retention on the SLOB will probably not be as good as the SLAB. That said we're going to crank out a couple of more protos and @Flamingo will test them in an upcoming revolver class.
If the next couple of protos go smoothly, as I think they will, we might be able to do a SLOB run before end of year!

Apologies for off topic
When you're training the reload with a speedloader do you drop it when empty?
