Finished the bottle of Bulleit Rye a couple of nights ago, so I bought a bottle of Buffalo Trace. It seems sweeter and warmer. Nice. It would be perfect if I had a fireplace (in Southern California).

Buffalo Trace is my "house Bourbon", and I always keep a bottle or two around for gifts as well. It really is an excellent value for the money.

Picked up a bottle of Blanton’s yesterday to celebrate finishing up school.

Was going to open it this weekend, but somebody decided to plant suspicious packages outside our building and they closed the whole office and street down. So I think I’ll be tucking into this sooner than anticipated.

Had a chance to try Woodford Reserve this past weekend. Very good. To borrow @SeriousStudent 's phrase I'll add it to my 'house bourbon' list along with BT, WT101 and Rittenhouse Rye.

If you like Woodford Reserve and have a bit of spare cash, you might try and hunt down their Master's Collection release for this year. They smoked the barley over cherry wood this time, and the 70 percent of the mash bill is corn, as is their usual practice. It's very interesting, and I like it much better than the double-oaked release they did last year. Not nearly as much tannins, and it's amazing with a nice Maduro or Connecticut cigar.

Definitely worth hunting down if you are a pipe or cigar fan.

Ardbeg 10 year old scotch from Islay. Love the peetiness and smoke of this whisky. A bit more partial to Laiphroig overall, but the Ardbeg sounded better at the time.
This country needs an enema- Blues approved sig line

A couple of lucky finds. It’s nice to make friends with the manager of the local fun shop. Doesn’t seem to be a lot of bourbon drinkers up here in RI.

Nice finds. Ironically, living in bourbon country makes it harder to find the rarer bottles - though a much better selection overall.

I have to thank all those who recommended Eagle Rare. It's some great swill!
