Ordered an EMOD and then looked at the weight. 14oz, oof.
The concept is a light hard use 14.5 carbine and it’ll use a Vltor A5 tube. I’d like tight lockup on the tube, none of that rattly stock garbage.
Keep the EMOD, or are there better ideas?

I haven’t found anything I like better for a carbine than the Magpul CTR.

I use the STR, which is like the CTR but provides better cheek weld via the two storage compartments.
Mine was tight AF when I first installed it. It has loosened significantly, but doesn't rattle even when the secondary lock isn't engaged.

+1 on this. Also the Rogers Super-Stoc is nice too. https://www.rogersshootingschool.com.../superstoc.php

The CTR is also my favorite, but one I've had for about four or five years has loosened up and now can rattle a touch even with the lock engaged. It's foliage, so I've been thinking about replacing it with black anyway.

Not another dime.
I haven’t tried too many outside of the cheaper Magpul ones but I LOVE the Rogers Super Stock.

After test driving several stocks I've swapped everything to the Magpul MOE SL. Tough, small, cheap, and minimal pulling on my beard. I liked the BCM stock as well but it plucked too many beard hairs.
