    2 gun range bag

I'm looking for a high quality 2 gun range bag. I've got a 5 gun but it's a bit cumbersome for short range trips and very heavy. Yes I could unload it but I'm lazy...there was a nice one posted months ago but I couldn't find the thread.

    Does anyone have a recommendation?

    Thanks.

I have a love/hate relationship with range bags. To get one large enough and organized well enough to really have what you need with you it is generally HUGE and very cumbersome. You can go minimalist but then end up missing things you need.

I have started using multiple small bags. I carry a Maxpedition Versipack as my primary range bag. I think it's this one ... Jumbo EDC S-Type. It was free SWAG from Aimpoint so I won't swear that's the same one but it sure looks like it based on the pocket setup, clips placement, etc.

    http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/...ype-4p1650.htm

This bag is perfect for monthly IDPA matches, etc. It carries all the stuff I absolutely have to carry with me, including a backup gun, bottled drink, etc. I can carry lots of small doo-dads & what-nots in it as well in the front & top pockets. I really like carry strap as I can just throw it over my shoulder/cross chest and go.

Other things I use on the practice range (targets, pasters, stapler, blue guns, etc etc etc) go in another small bag (actually one of the free bailout bags LAPG gives away frequently). This one doesn't go to matches or training classes with me unless I have some sort of involvement in the setup/admin side.

Anything random that doesn't already live in either of these two small bags goes into a heavy duty plastic milk crate and gets thrown in the truck along with the bags. This usually includes additional ammo, additional handguns (in rugs), additional magazines, water or sports drinks, etc.

Using multiple bags is actually easier than using one large bag and adding/removing things based on what you are doing that day. That never worked for me. Now I just based which bag(s) (already setup as needed) I need based on what I'm doing/where I'm going.

    My favorite: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939...tion-range-bag
it holds 4 guns, 4 sets of ears, targets, index cards, knee pads, tons of mags, etc.

    Probably perfect for you: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939...tion-range-bag
    it's smaller and cheaper.

The thing I look at most when shopping for anything with zippers is the quality of the material and the ruggedness of the zipper.

I don't know who makes this bag but the one I have is identical and was purchased from Dillon Precision about 20 years ago. It has stood up to lots of abuse, I broke one of the strap clips twice and the reinforcement where the strap connection is made on the bag had to be resewn.

My wife has the Midway bag and I would consider it hobby grade. Not a bad bag but not nearly as nice as the one I posted.

I carry the full size version of the mid-size bag every day, for about 3 years now. Of one of the maratac bags from county comm fits your needs, it is a great choice in my experience. It has held up extremely well.

I use this one, and it's just about right for 2 handguns and trips to the range. I'd probably get the larger one for classes.
