I'm not talking about kowtowing to a police union.I mean members of the State legislature saying in effect " gee whiz our cops cant get good guns.Lets repeal the roster at once so our officers come home safe."

First off, I don't appreciate the dig on my "distinguished service" as I was making a point of buttressing why I think I can comment from the aspect of firsthand knowledge. We can trade DD214s (since that's why I was in CA) or you could have simply answered my direct question about your knowledge on what you're commenting on. So, let's try again: What is your experience and firsthand knowledge on this topic of CA LE unions, GardoneVT?

The entire point of my comments on CA LE unions is that they are very powerful in CA politics, something I've witnessed firsthand at the state and city level. So, to answer you; CA politicians (regardless of party affiliation) can be quite receptive of an LE union's demands and I don't doubt for a moment that should someone deprive CA police of all modern service weapons, all hell would break loose.

As noted, microstamping is a fantasy that does NOT work. Period.

Except the roster, even worst case scenario, wouldnt do that. Revolvers are not affected by the roster, and not every company is going to realistically participate in a boycott. While us gun guys know a new M&P generally is a better gun then ,say, a legacy USP (no disrespect to HK users BTW!) for the modern officer, will the gun ignorant administrators in CA see it that way?

More crucially, will the police unions of CA use precious political capital to advance this issue to the detriment of others? If they burn up their leverage on this, what will the officers have to give up in return? Pension protection ? Healthcare benefits? Time off? Those are major issues given California's budget troubles.

How likely? Very likely since they're not going to pay the states extortion fee and give 5 guns per model for testing that they never get back.

All DA and some SA Revolvers are affected by the roster, this isn't the first time you spewed nonsense of California's affairs to be corrected by people who lived their and experienced the nonsense for years.

I remember being told that a blued Colt Python I had bought to celebrate my brother's return from his second combat tour was illegal in CA though the nickel Python was fine for CA.

Man that's some serious footage! Almost 10 years since it was taken.

My thoughts/hopes are that this is all part of some vast right wing conspiracy to have Kaliforias roster be declared unconstitutional.

Regarding the Byzantine nature of Kalifornia gun laws most Kalifornians do not understand them let alone people from out of state.

Like many things, the roster is about generating money for the socialist utopia and has zero to do with safety. Keep in mind not having many guns LEO's want in California on shelves already affects them....it has nothing to do with pay and benefits, so nobody gives a crap.
Just a Hairy Special Snowflake supply clerk with no field experience, shooting an Asymetric carbine as a Try Hard. Snarky and easily butt hurt. Favorite animal is the Cape Buffalo....likely indicative of a personality disorder.
