    Yes.

Which mags have you tried previously? Something like the Tripp Cobra Mags may work because they can sit a little higher in some guns and present the cartridge a little closer to the chamber.

A similar approach is the magazine release from EGW. Its shelf is just a little higher than usual. This sits the mag slightly higher in the frame and can also help with feeding.

The downside to these is that they can occasionally cause the left corner of the magazine to contact the bottom of the ejector. There's also a chance that the higher round stack can push the extracted case up and away from the ejector, which can lead to ejection failures. Depending on the frame, the EGW may cause the toe on the front of the mag to hit the cut out at the front of the mag well.

Thanks! Honestly, I don't remember. I don't think I have any Tripp mags at all. I know there's some Wilson mags in the box o' mags but they were bought used and I have no idea what model they are. I really need to get my 1911 magazine scene squared away.
    Bad ideas, brilliant execution

There's plenty of other stuff that may be causing feed issues but this could be an easy (aka not terribly expensive) place to start. And it shouldn't require anything other than taking the old part out and putting the new one in.

Like Tokarev said, it all contributes. My understanding is that ramp and barrel throat profiling matter a lot, but I can't tell you what the details of that are. Mags as well, though I've had success with basically anything decent (even old factory Kimber mags worked fine back in high school when I was shooting literally nothing but 200gr. SWC through my two Kimbers). Obviously other guns will vary.

I have not had to mess with OAL of the cartridge. I'm not sure there's a ton of messing around to be done with most SWC bullets. You obviously want a bit of shoulder above the case mouth, but I don't know if you could expose a lot more of it in an attempt to have a OAL your gun likes better. Mine don't have much more shoulder exposed than necessary to function and properly engage in the barrel.

That part fixed a problem I was having with my Colt 38 Super. It's a quick and easy thing to try.

According to Wilson Combat and some other sources, 1.25" is a proper overall length for 45 Auto even though SAAMI max is a bit longer.

I have not reloaded 200 LSWC in years but I never had a feed issue with any 1911 I shot with that ammo.

I have access to heaps of old 230 ball, so save my components for when I am retired.

All my loads were set at 1.25"

I have shot Black Hills 200 SWC and its way hotter than my reloads. of the couple of boxes I had, there was no issues.
