Hit 3 small milestones this last week, all within days of each other. 200 bench, 250 squat, 300 and change for dead. This is after 11 months, at 175 body weight. Going into the summer, with more time to workout, I feel optimistic about hitting my goals of 1.5x body for squats, and 2x body for dead. Bench is already past body, obviously, so 225 is the next reasonable goal. Onward and upward, but it's a good place to be after an insane school year. At least I didn't back track.
I'm not going down the debate rabbit hole regarding candidates for our next president in 2024, but I am truly and completely tired of this particular asshole.

Hit 455x9 tonight. Then got 495x3. Next week I'm shooting for 10 reps then the next week I'm going to shoot for 585. Which is my all time pr. I'd like to hit it at 40.

56, and thanks. I figure so long as I don't stop, I’ll keep improving. There’s plenty of guys around who are older than me still hitting PRs.

This week my wife's with her sister and mom so I've been home.

No lifting at work but I've run 3x this week. Today I hit a wall at 3miles today and walked/run mile 4 and 5. I put on some cadences and ran the last mile home.

Get a load of this workout that my trainer laid on me the other day:

    Barbell Deadlift, 5x3 @ 70% 1RM
    Pendlay rows 4 sets, 6-8
Lat wide grip pull downs 3x12-15
Lat wide bar close grip pulldown 3x12-15
Straight-arm rope lat pulldown (lots of core engagement) 3x12-15
    Barbell bicep curl 3x12-15
Cable single arm bicep curl 3x12-15
    Lying straight leg raise 3x20-30
    Cable kneeling crunch 3x20-30

90 sec timed rest between all sets

Holy support lifts, Batman. I was ready for a corona with lime and a nap after just the deadlifts and Pendlay rows.

    😂

The good trainers all seem to have a sadistic streak, but they can sure get the best out of a client. Definitely a nap-worthy workout. My last exercise on leg day are walking lunges with 45 or 50 lb. dumbbells 3 sets of 12-16. EMTs are on speed dial; more taxing than squats or deadlifts.
