"I've owned a guitar for 31 years and that sure hasn't made me a musician, let alone an expert. It's made me a guy who owns a guitar."- BBI
While not a final resolution to this issue, it appears that the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas has issued a ruling in the firearms policy coalitions pistol brace lawsuit vacating the ATF pistol brace regulation.
The government, of course, has the option to appeal this decision and the 5th Circuit court of appeals, which covers Texas is supposed to have a consolidated hearing in August, addressing all of the various pistol brace seats within their jurisdiction.
Regardless, this is very good news.

Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913):
2. To annul; to make void; to deprive of force; to make of no
authority or validity; as, to vacate a commission or a
charter; to vacate proceedings in a cause.
And from Bouvier's Law Dictionary:
TO VACATE. To annul, to render an act void; as to vacate an entry which has
been made on a record when the court has been imposed upon by fraud, or
taken by surprise.
So the ATF's brace decision has been axed pending appeal ever upward.
