I've become a big fan of the Lionhearted Armory pikal. Very light, better than expected grip, and just a well designed knife/sheath system. When carrying it at 10-11 o'clock, I forget about it. Sitting, standing, walking, doesn't matter. The "crossbar" strap on the sheath confused me, until the first time I threaded the belt through. No more fishing the belt through the two loops, it that crossbar makes it function like a single, wide loop. Main website here: https://lhbladeworks.com/product/pikal/ But there is a dealer in Oklahoma importing them (but not the trainer): https://aandjsporting.com/lionhearted-pikal-knife/:
It is. I used to carry a Tops Felony Stop, but for some silly reason they made it from absurdly thick steel, about 1/4 inch thick. So it's heavy, and tends to fall out of the sheath when carried horizontally (which means handle slightly down). The light weight of this pikal, plus the retention design makes it both quite secure, and easy to draw. Whoever designed the knife/sheath system seems to have some experience carrying knives, which isn't always the case with knife designers.
I can't find the post/thread where somebody on this forum turned me on to Lionhearted Armory, but I owe them thanks.
