Simple. Model 642-1 J frame.
That is all.
There's nothing civil about this war.
642-1 J frame & sometimes a Colt CCO .45

Revolver .38 Special or smaller
Usually a 3-4" K frame loaded with .38s. Occasionally a J frame; just got done with yard work and am carrying my 642-2.

I have his SA 9mm Officers model when it used to be called the Range Officer. I plan to put a dot on it so its not Old School when that happens?
Old school back in the day when Jeff Cooper roamed the earth.
70 Series Colt .45 ACP in a Bianchi Pistol Pocket or a Star PD carried Mexican.
S&W M38 .38 Special.
An old MI State Police gun complete with some road rash.
Has a stainless cylinder and an alloy frame. Small sights
but still usable.
Used to be an ankle gun now generally pocket carried.
I have a grand total of two handguns that fit your specifications, so I guess I'd be carrying a .357 SP101 since it's the only one of the two that I have a holster for.
Is Scandium allowed? If so, S&W 329 in a Blade Tech owb or Milt Sparks IWB.
Likes pretty much everything in every caliber.
Is this hypothetical (what I would like to have that was available “old school”, or must I own it now), and must it have been produced/available prior to 1945, or just something that meets the rest of the parameters?
Hypothetical, pre-1945: Walther PPK, .32 ACP. .32 Long S&W I frame. 2” S&W M&P .38 Special. .44 Special #5 copy. 4.5” SAA in .45 Colt.
Real, pre-1945: 1930 4” M&P .38 Special.
Real that meets the rest of the parameters: Mostly S&W: 642/442, 60-9, M12 2”, one of several 4” K frame .38 Specials, 4516-1, 3913, 5.5” Ruger Flattop Bisley .44 Special (basically a #5). All situational, just like how they are actually used.
