If things go wrong, do you blame the actor who lit the fuse?
In my personal, non-legal opinion, depends upon what the standard operating procedures are for that.

If you listen the the podcast JSGLOCK posted above, the experts stated there are standards regarding this which have been created. And these were completely violated by the cast and crew on this production. Not quite sure who exactly came up with those standards and if anyone actually enforces them. Need to go back and listen again.

But also, when those two experts in the above podcast handle firearms on set. They stated that they load the blanks or dummies, or whatever in front of the actor who is going to handle the gun as well as any other actors who are going to be in the line of fire as well as other important members of the crew such as director, etc. This is also stated in the 60 Minutes interview with an armorer. If that truly is the standard procedure, and it was not followed. The actor holding the gun as well as others should have noticed that and stopped everything until the standard procedure and protocol was followed.

But of note they mentioned that every Studio has its own specific protocols.

Stupid is as stooped does. Can’t trust firearms with some people. They can’t handle them.

One would think that Areck would have noticed that things were happening in a different fashion and would have said something.
But a good majority of actors are very stupid people. Which is one of the reasons they have the procedures they have.

But since it is Hollywood, and those stupid people are the movie stars, you have to let them handle guns so the movie can happen. Because the producers are the ones who picked that particular stupid, spoiled, unteachable walking ego trip- and if you don't like it, you can go ahead and never work in this town again.

Not really sure this is the correct thread for this or not, but an interesting observation on how the most liberal and woke community in our country who is so anti-gun for you and me is also is the same group of people who absolutely love to put guns on TV / movies.

Learning about guns from movies is like learning about sex from porn.

    Reads like a mystery novel.

I'll bet Columbo could solve this one.

Rust’ armorer likely was hungover when she loaded the gun used in the fatal movie set shooting, prosecutors say

Also later on in the article mentions a broken sear on the gun. First I've heard that reported.
