If you are taking a class and want to run a belt reload or two on a normal belt the ready tac is the answer for sure. I have several of them and run them when I want a low profile but rifle mag on me at work with my plain clothes set up or I don't have time to change to the big belt I can throw a rifle mag on my belt etc. For a battle belt set up aka permanent mounting I like the esstac pouches (medium or short not tall).
I have these on my competition rig and I'd love to find a way to attach the Ready Tactical so they don't have that "lip" at the back and I could cram them closer together.
Edit:
I actually have these, but the issue is the same

Does the above offend? If you have paid to be here, you can click here to put it in context.
Class is a relatively basic Carbine Operators class put on by a local group I've taken some other classes with. Round count should be 250-300 rounds over the 8 hour course, so not high volume. If I can take 3 mags to the line, I don't expect to have to back fill too much. Ill take the chest rig just in case though I guess.
The ready tactical pouches look good too.

I bought two of the AR15 mag pouches from JM Custom Kydex for this exact purpose. Ran both of them for reloads off my regular EDC belt.

I like them so much I keep one in my rifle bag at work. Easy on/off solution for a reload while deploying a rifle.
Possibly unpopular opinion: I really like the Blue Force Gear helium whisper belt mount pouches for this. They are inexpensive, very low profile, and work well. I love that I can have the pouches for pistol and carbine reloads laying flat in my kit bag, thread them on my EDC belt, and take a class or be low-profile if the situation demands it.
You can restow a mag in them with some practice, though I’ll typically opt for a back pocket if speed is required.

I have been using a Slate Creek Tactical AR-15 magazine pouch. It retains well, is concealable (if that is something you need), is reversible, and is available with a variety of mounting options. Here is a link: "https://sctactical.com/product/ar15m4-magazine-carrier/". The owner is a dear friend. I have been very happy with the kydex Slate Creek Tactical makes for me. One or two of these and a cloth dump pouch and you should be all set. I hope that helps.
