Thread: Why I like the LEM as a "street trigger"

  1. #211
It's worth noting the original LEM trigger was the V2 variant around 7.5 lbs. This is the configuration I feel makes the most sense to the most people. I don't care for V1 at all, seems unbalanced considering the length and weight of pull together. 7.5 lbs makes it basically that of a good DA pull every shot, I like DAO type operation for people managements.

Interesting. I can’t believe how much I love the V1 LEM. It feels like home. I haven’t tried the V2 but based on your description, I think I would strongly prefer the V1. Funny, after sending a few hundred rounds down range with my V1 I’ve realized that what it is most similar to is my Ruger P89dc in single action. It was my first gun ever and I’ve had it nearly 30 years. It has far more travel in SA than most DA/SA guns. Very light, but fairly long take-up (not as long as the V1 though) and then a nice crisp, and fairly light break.

Somewhere in this thread someone stated that it was easier for DA/SA shooters to adjust to the LEM than those that prefer striker-fired guns. That makes a lot of sense to me and probably helps explain why the V1 LEM feels so natural to me.

Yes, transitioning from a Sig 226/229, to P30SK LEM was no big deal. If you are competent with a DAO, DA/SA or LEM, anything else is easier.
