This was not a classic 2000 in that I knew I would need to keep this gun clean and lubricated. It was cleaned every 200 rounds or so. And it requires it to keep running.
The original magazine had an issue and rounds dragged in it when loaded over 5 rounds to magazine. Beretta replaced it and problems improved, but did not go away completely.
Stoppages came in several flavors:
-Unlit primers. This was seemingly random and occurred mostly with Minimags and on both DA and SA trigger pulls. These are super annoying to clear as you have to bash the round back with a small stick and are putting it down the chamber with a live round. No bueno.
-FTE: typically a result of chamber fouling. Improved to almost non existent as I learned better how to keep the chamber clean and became more meticulous about it.
-Short strokes. Gun fires, round not moved in magazine. I am hoping this can improve with hyper velocity ammunition. Again sort of random and I blame ammo.
-Stovepipes: dirty gun, Aguila ammo
-Feedramp stoppages: kinda random. Can hit feedramp above the chamber.
Pros:
-Shoots great. Accurate, with minimal recoil and decent trigger
-Extremely safe for admin handling, and loading.
Light weight and small.
Cons:
-You might not get a second shot. 98% chance you will though.
-Requires frequent cleaning and lubrication.
-Ammunition sensitive.
Conclusion: range toy.
I’d love to call this thing a total dog, but I really enjoyed shooting it with the 9/6lb trigger and perfect ergonomics. It is more reliable than any Glock Conversion I have tried.
