Dang that's cheap! What a bargain. It is so hard not to set the bank account and credit card on fire these days with the plentiful and solid options at reasonable prices.

Hecker & Koch drops prices for handguns, adds new colors http://www.guns.com/2018/01/25/hecke...source=twitter

With manufacturing efforts now open Georgia, the German gun maker Heckler & Koch has lowered prices for popular handgun designs on display this week at SHOT Show in Las Vegas.

HK spokeswoman Angela Harrell explained that since they’re manufacturing products in the U.S. instead of importing them from Germany, they’re able to reduce the price.
At SHOT, HK introduced new prices for the P30 and HK45 models, dropping the price by about 30 percent in some cases. For instance, MSRP for the P30 handgun has dropped from around $1,000 to $719.

How long have they been making the p30 in the US?

They have not made any yet. they just started production in the past few weeks and it is HK45's that they are making now. I think it will be a while before we see any US made P30's.

I just picked up a p30sk LEM from hkspecialiststore.com for $499 (529 after shipping). If I like shooting it I'll probably also want a P30 and P30L LEM as well. I still like .40 so I'm good with those kinds of prices! Of course I need more USP and USP compacts as well....

I handled a P30 right with a Sig P226 and P229 the other day. I was very surprised to see that the P30 is more the size of the 229. I thought the grip was longer, I guess it just looks that way in pics. I can see how could be a very good concealed carry pistol.

That's really interesting. I've never handled or seen both side by side, but I agree I would have thought the P30 would be a significantly longer grip than the 229

    Thanks for sharing!

ETA: another mind job for me is from what I'm reading even the full size USP 9/40 is shorter height than the P30 and Sig 229. My whole worldview is a mess. Apparently despite decades of handling guns I have no concept of which ones are bigger than others lol
