I agree, the links don't work.

But from reading your description, please make sure your not posting to something with that could be construed as instigating inter-forum wars.

So other than an RO who has given up the fashion battle and hoisted the "I'm an old man, what the hell do I care!" flag, some shrink wrapped tires and an RO who's about to get run over what are we looking at and why?

basically an RO being caught unawares. This happens fairly regularly in my experience, on stages where backing up is required. Whether or not it's a big deal depends on the persons opinion. I would have given the shooter more room at the point you see above, so that I could have just backed up while watching him, but some RO's feel you need to be right on the shooter the whole time, and then end up having to do as above. really depends on the shooter and the RO.

Absolutely! A new shooter gets a lot more "hands on" RO'ing than a master class competitor. Stages that involve advancing then retreating require a lot of RO planning ahead of time and some fleet foot work too.

The "This was not taken at an IPSC match" line and lack of other comment confused me about what we were to learn from the photo.

yeah the whole "not at an IPSC match" is rather strange, when in fact it was an IPSC match.
