Don't worry, you aren't the first to say that
I am definitely a function over form kind of guy. The grip gives me everything I want when gripping the gun (a very aggressive texture) and everything I want when carrying the gun in a holster against the skin (lack of aggressive texture). I have run some pretty aggressively stippled guns (using traditional methods) to get the type of grip I wanted, but they weren't as comfortable to carry, and had issues grabbing at clothing. May not believe it looking at it, but this texture doesn't do that. Clamp down on it with your hands though and it doesn't move.
