All serial numbers match except the magazine. Got the 1934 holster separately. Still debating on whether to shoot it or not

So A guy at work wanted to get rid of this old gun...

...and I was obligated to help him out. Range time with it in the AM.

Jungle Carbine? Cool gun. Let us know how your shoulder feels afterward.

Today's range trip was brief and more a function test than any serious shooting. Distance was 50 yards off a bench. Ammo was PPU 174 grain FMJBT. I used the flip up sight at the 200M setting to utilize the smaller peep. Four rounds right handed, including figuring out my hold over resulted in a 5"-ish group and some stringing.

Left handed was a bit better with a 4"-ish group.

Recoil was a bit sporty off a bench but no worse that a M44 or a 30/06 hunting rifle.

That is a Pitts Special S-2B. A buddy recently bought it, and I was giving him instruction in it for insurance purposes (he could already fly it competently).

The Pitts has been my all-time favorite airplane since I was 12 years old.
