Yeah, I'm pretty big into power metal right now.

Can't wait for new Iced Earth this year. About this time last year I spent 3 hours talking with Troy Seele about all kinds of music and what not. Was pretty cool.
Wow, I haven't listened to some of these bands in ages. Just spent the last couple hours doing a bit of reminiscing courtesy of Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Demons & Wizards, Ensiferum, Bal-Sagoth and a little Children of Bodom added in for good measure. Makes me wish I still had my mp3 collection from college...

Most of what I listen to is guitar-centric. Not much metal in my old age, but lots and lots of guitar.

    Big Wreck
    Gov’t Mule
    David Grissom
    Michael Landau
    Eric Gales
    Larkin Poe
    Ariel Posen
    Winery Dogs/Richie Kotzen
    André Nieri
    Trucks/Tedeschi

Man I could go on all day.

Not in the guitar-centric category, but absolutely obsession-level right now - Tyler Childers. Holy cow. I don’t even have the words to describe. An otherworldly songwriting talent.

Very. Despite getting tons of recommendations, I had avoided Ren thinking he was just another grime rapper so when I finally watched that operetta it blew me away. The audio is one continuous live recording, although the video did need 4 takes to get all of the close ups without interfering with other camera angles.

Brief elaboration on the final spoken word part: Ren has had auditory hallucinations since he was 5, likely contracted lyme disease as a child in rural Wales, and developed an autoimmune disorder. The later weren't diagnosed until recently, so when Sony signed him as a teenaged music major the stresses soon put him in an institution. Sony let him out of the contract while Ren spiraled into psychosis undergoing 10 years of ineffective (at best) treatment.

A few years ago Ren started undergoing stem cell therapy for the Lyme disease while adhering to an extremely strict diet for the autoimmune disorder. He'll never be cured, but the symptoms improved enough that he's now able to create music much more often.
