To have many forums in one app, and Tapatalk is a bit easier for that, but I knew Todd had an iPad and was more curious than anything. I haven't been able to convince work I need one yet, so I don't even have an iPad.
I'd say low bandwidth situations like 3G and saturated WiFi links. Tapatalk uses less bandwidth.
Two situations I didn't think of that make perfect sense. While tapatalk is great, I guess I like the full version of forums when I can get them so I just have them bundled in to one folder on my ipad.
That being said I guess I'd use an Ipad version for both of those scenarios mentioned if it became available. Thankfully devs have been pretty responsive about updating apps to both platforms, might happen eventually.

Is there any advantage in using this over the standard Android browser?

That's a screenshot from my iPhone.

It's fits the screen. All the options are available native to the app:

And Tapatalk hosts images. Take a picture and upload it. No additional hosting site or anything.
Nobody is impressed by what you can't do. -THJ

Most of what I've heard is that Honeycomb handles scaling from phone-res apps better than iOS does.

It is much more streamlined than the graphical browser interface. There are no lines or images to get in the way but you can still see all the text and thumbnail images you can expand if desired.

Over all it makes reading on small touch screen device much easier.
