Competition will tell you things about your actual performance level that you will not get short of ECQC or a life and death struggle.
One of the guys I roll with is fighting this weekend (MMA), over the past few weeks I've been sparring with him as part of his preparation.
I haven't been in a "real" fight in years and the hard MMA sparring we've been doing has me pumped (and raccoon eyed at the moment).
I can't wait to get in my first grappling tournament (at 43 years of age).
