    Interview re Mr Yobokies himself:
    https://www.askmen.com/style/watches...interview.html

I have had a Sinn inspired 556 for well over 10 years. It has definitely been a Gateway Watch. 5 + others from 100-to 3k value wise-Omega to Seiko to JDM to Tissot to vintage Bulova and back. IIRC, It was less than 150 USD shipped and took about 3-4 weeks. IMHO, it walks the fine line of being an Homage v a Knock Off. YMMV.

I really like that - I’ve restricted myself to watches with 4:30 stems.

Anybody have an opinion on these Martac pilot watches? I am new to this, but always had great luck with products I bought from these guys. The simplicity of this thing appeals to me, I am one of those people who never manage to get the date and day stuff in my automatics correctly synched and if I ever do, then we hit a 30 day month and it irritates the snot out of me. I really want a good auto without the day date thing altogether.

    Check this out: https://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/d...e-classic.html

It's a knockoff of the Rolex Explorer. Not as austere as the 1016 but not as blinged out as the current models.

I’m seriously considering an LHD or Blue Pelagos as a fishing watch to replace the BB GMT. Someone talk me out of it.
