I've had dive-type watches for over 25 years; I don't think I've ever really used the bezel as a timer. At this stage in my life, for me, my phone acts as a better timer and I think I'd rather have that real estate for a larger face, so that my old eyes can see it better.

I sold watches at Macy's in High School/College and did the same during Law School at a small local jewelry store chain. I am a bit of a watch geek with champagne tastes on a cider budget.
1. Concur re Eco Drive having to charge up. In many Quartz/quartz like watches, the second hand going in 2-5 secs increments is called the EOL (End of Life) indicator and is telling you it is time for a battery/charge.
2. If a new watch is in mind, I offer the following.
A. Certina with their "precidrive" ETA Quartz Movement. 20 seconds per year accuracy. If you sign up an email with Jomashop, that should get you a coupon and close price wise.
Certina is part of the SWATCH Group ( Tissot, Hamilton, Mido, Omega etc.)

B. https://www.jomashop.com/certina-wat...17-051-00.html
also a Precidrive as per the Certina website.

C. Tissot Quartz Chrono. While it is an NBA Special Edition, the logo is on the case back only. It looks to have a red second hand with a red and blue accent ring on the chrono pushers to signify its "specialness."

D. 34MM version of the iconic Citizen Promaster Dive Watch in Blue. Swap straps and it can go with anything.

Let us know re charging and if you get a new watch.

Much obliged.
I took it upon myself to attempt to penetrate the female mind today. As subtle as I could muster, I circled around the subject as follows:
Me - Dear, would you like me to pick out a new sports watch for you?
My Darling Wife - (side glance) No, I'll pick something up next time I go to Costco.
Right then, I think I am off the hook, at least until Xmas. Still, much appreciate the suggestions, they look great.
I am considering adding a Sinn U1 to a collection of mostly other Sinns. Anyone have one and like/dislike it?
I had one and liked it, but it is quite thick and large at 44m. I sold it to fund another watch acquisition. Were I to replace it, I'd go with the new 41mm U50. Unfortunately current U1s and U50s now use Sellita movements, which is a step down from ETA.
It is certainly an iconic Sinn.

I thought Sellita started as an authorized subcontractor of ETA such that they are functional equivalents?
