They are a clothing accessory...
I can't take a phone with me on job sites or to my job on base, and find a watch is faster/convenient to any phone.
I had a hamilton hand wind from the Vietnam era, worked great until it didn't. There's something about shaving with soap/brush/straight edge and then winding your watch in the morning.

That is how I have been rolling for the last 10-15 years, but Friday I was in a sales call and was flying out right after and needed to check the time and didn't want to refer to the phone because I think it can be perceived as a bit rude, and I am trusting myself less on not letting it distract me. Sure, I can JUST look at the time, but there is a whole lot more looking back at ya once you peek at it. Then on the plane I shut it down (to preserve battery instead of going to airplane mode) and several times wondered how much longer till beer thirty.
When I got home I went to Pistol-Forum for some cursory watch advice and ordered this:
That Citizen on a NATO strap is go to for daily wear. I don't really mind or notice that it is on the smaller side of men's watches.
For me, the only downside of it is having to futz with the day window at the end of the month. I wish there was a version that was date only.
37.5mm is about as large as I want.
