Orient is one of the best kept secrets in mechanical watches.
Quality way above their very modest price.

Funny thing is, I think my Omega somehow overheard that conversation and was offended, because it promptly sprung a leak the next time I took a swim. I was particularly annoyed since it had been on 30 dives with me without a single problem, but decided to die at the neighborhood pool.

Unfortunately, it spent the better part of the next year going back and forth to Omega for repair (including an extended trip to Switzerland). To Omega's credit, the watch they (finally) returned to me was practically new and works perfectly, but I got tired of wearing a digital watch during its prolonged absence and decided to buy a dive watch with a reputation for ruggedness as a 'back-up'.

Once I discovered Sinn and its German engineering there was no turning back, and I now find I wear the 'back-up' more often than its predecessor.

Unfortunately, watches are addictive. A Sinn 856 is on my short list.

My first Omega had problems, too. My second (PO) has been fantastic, though.

I'm with you on the Sinn obsession. I just wish they made more watches with a 12hr "GMT" hand like my 757. I can't imagine living without it now.

You guys are going to cost me $1500 before the week is over.
That Sinn U1 looks so nice... and I'm so weak.
