Thread: Obligatory Wristwatch Thread

Been without a watch for a while. Can’t afford a really nice watch at the moment but I found a great simple piece I think is a bit of a sleeper. The appeal to me is the super clean look with a very easy to read dial. It’s got a miyota 9015 movement that is simple and durable. It’s Titanium and very light on the wrist. Has a display case back which some will turn their nose up at since it’s not a super nice decorated movement. I get it, but I’ll say that every non watch enthusiast I show it to likes it and peaks their interest.

Anyway I’m very pleased with this watch and at the price point I’m not gonna be heart broken when it gets scratched up.

Forgive me, I was set to buy more ammo but bought this instead. Its a Casioak GAE2100GC-7A that came in a snow camo pattern but also with this green setup. My plan was to get a regular GA2100 model and add a nato strap but when I saw this combo it made sense.

I am very happy with the watch. Its amazing light and looks great. My older eyes have a little problem with the small digital display but its ok. I have it set for Zulu/UTC time for work stuff and you can press 2 buttons that move the hands out of the way for a clear view of the digital display.

...I kinda want to buy another one but my cash needs to go to getting a pistol milled and finding an Acro or rolling the dice with the EPS.

That’s really nice looking! Decent specs too.

The County Comm Maratac line is really nice, especially for the money.

I have one of their Pilots Watches.

Probably a poor question: for those who have crossed path with the 43mm Aerospace Evo, how’s the wearing? I have a 7.6”ish wrist with a fairly flat top but the 52mm length gives me pause. That said, the lugs do like nicely downturned and I doubt it would have street cred it does if it rode poorly.

Edit to add: definitely plan on seeing if any of the Seattle area shops have one in the near future.

The model number is BM8180. It's my first Citizen watch and first solar-powered watch. The solar charge is supposed to last 6 months even in the dark. I like the simple field watch design and it's nicely lightweight.
