I had a rather freakish heart attack on the 8th that left me in the ICU for a few days. I think I'm fine, considering what I went through, but I'm suddenly on medications for the first time in my life and I'm trying to regain some trust in my ticker. The wrist based pulse function is reassuring and the sensor will integrate with my bike computer when I get back in the saddle.

    A little simple.
Nice...and a great photo. Simple works.

My favorite dirty job watch is a G-Shock DW-5600, the NASA-approved one. No shame in the G-Shock game. They work.

The "unofficial official watch of US Army Ranger School", or so I was told.

I'm trying to find a new bezel for a DW6500 that wouldn't cost 10 times what the watch did.

Spent the afternoon at the Kansas Cosmosphere. Had to rock the Moon Watch.

Personally, I think the best model (for me) is the GMT.
For me, THE Rolex is the Datejust as it is the platform on which so many advances and iconic features were first shown, including the date window, the fluted bezel, the Cyclops, and the Jubilee bracelet. Even today, the Datejust outsells the other models, including the Submariner.

That being said, there are several other iconic Rolex models, including the Day-Date, the Daytona, the Explorer, and the GMT Master II. The Day-Date today now sees most of the design improvements first (sapphire crystals, "solid" bracelet links, ceramic bracelet link inserts, updated clasps, updated movements, new dial options), with the notable exception of the silicon hairspring that made its debut on a single Datejust Pearlmaster model.

I am a huge fan of the GMT, having worn one for twenty years.

The true Rolex believers freaking HATE this watch with a passion.
It's about as far from "iconic" as you can get in the Rolex lineup.

I really dig that. I think that makes it the third Rolex I actually like.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.
