Recently I've been refurbing some watches I'd stopped wearing...I was really gone to automatics but now that I am a laptop jockey I didn't enjoy them as much and sometimes I found the big diver tool watches a bit forced?

Anyway maybe it's just a phase I'm in but I'm really appreciating my older, simple G-shocks, but I always hated the straps, plus one was torn off when a dog attacked me ten years ago, so I thought I'd update them.

I feel like a g-shock is a good fit for me. I'm not really a very fancy guy, I'm quite utilitarian, but I appreciate quality gear. So the NATO and steel bands on these really make them about my speed these days.

I also replaced the strap on my ancient Promaster Hyper Aqualand.

They're crazy little computers. Pretty adequate for the small amount of skin diving and snorkeling I do.
This is a thread where I built a boat I designed and which I very occasionally update with accounts of using it, which is really fun as long as I'm not driving over logs and blowing up the outboard.

    Apple Watch 7

So I decided to upgrade to an AW7 SS 45mm from my AW4 in aluminum 44mm since I'm handing down the AW4 to my pre-teen son. I decided to go with the SS with sapphire screen over the standard aluminum for potentially more durability since I plan on using it for a couple years. My old AW4 held up pretty well but has some scuffs and scratches which I expect my son to continue beating on. IMO there is not that many changes going with the AW4 to AW7 outside of a few additional features like the blood ox sensor, always on display, sleep tracking, keyboard, faster charging and the haptics feel slightly stronger. I like it like I did my AW4, it'll be nice when they can seriously improve the battery life though since it does need to be charged daily.

I see a “2021” Omega Speedy in my future but I’ve really been enjoying this piece, especially since I really got the bracelet dialed in to my smaller wrist size.

It’s a great looking watch! I keep telling myself that it’s too tall, but I’ll probably end up with one anyway. I have yet to see a true GMT that I like better. The pictures from you, @Corse, and @Guinnessman are not helping.

I really need to order a steel bracelet for my GMT, that looks fantastic! Congrats on the new watch!

    Just buy it already.😁

Aside from its Grand-Daddy, the Rolex GMT, I feel that Tudor did a great job with this piece.

I originally thought it would be too thick, but I liked everything about the watch otherwise. Now that I have it, I love it. I could be tempted with the Rolex, but not at the prices they are now.

I actually prefer the Tudor over the newest GMT-Master II. I don’t care much for the ceramic bezel or polished center links. Not saying I wouldn’t take one if the opportunity was presented but the Tudor with the domed sapphire and lack of crown guards just hits different. Would love to see it in a BB58 sized package but after having it for a few months, even with a smaller wrist, the size is totally doable.

I’m also not a huge fan of the look of the ceramic bezel on the Rolex. The Tudor has a more vintage look which I prefer.

I'm hoping Tudor comes out with a "Coke" version of the GMT this year. Wearing my only Tudor tonight.
