I have a question on watch maintenance:

After lubricating your Suunto digital watch using the standard method of pouring used motor oil liberally down your sleeve, how do you get rid of the smell? Normal soap nor dishwashing liquid doesn't seem to help. (Well, the dishwashing stuff worked better, but there is still an odor.)

To answer my own question, it seems getting some sweat and bug spray on it, soaking it in rainwater (..."occasional light rainshowers" my light beige butt), and washing it seems to be getting rid of the odor. At least, until the next oil change.

I'm new to watches as of this year and sticking under the $1k budget so far as I dabble around. I've been enjoying this Christopher Ward the last week on a Haveston m1936 nato. Enjoyable combo!
