    Mobile 1 as a lubricant?

It was suggested Mobile 1 is a good lubrication option: comparable to miltec-1, without the expense. After a little open source internet research I haven't been convinced this isn't a viable option. I'm interested in your thoughts!
Bravo for all those on this site helping me cover my blind spots!

There are no gun oil refineries.
I've used Mobil-1 for several years with no problems.

Ken Hackathorn recommends it, and he knows a thing or two.

I use it. That and the red wheel bearing grease from walmart. If it's good enuff for cars I figure it'll work.

S&W Armorer instructor specifically mentioned it as a great lube. A quart will last you forever.

I'm pretty sure the crank shaft in a z06 is under a bit more stress than the barrel hood on your Glock. Mobile 1 is probably one of the best options available.

I also use "Royal Purple" full synthetic oil for gun lube. It works great from my experience as does the Mobile1 full synthetic.

$8.00 for a quart of Mobile1 or Royal Purple compared to $18 for a 4oz. bottle of MiliTec? Its a no-brainer.

Ken Elmore recommends Mobil 1 for AR-15s. He is considered an SME on the entire family of Colt AR-15 pattern weapons.

5w-40 Amsoil for European cars. I don't believe there is any evidence that one is better than the other.
