If they reshaped the mag release to something closer to a P30, it would have been a step up! Going to a button .... that's a downgrade - IMO.

The 5" version is interesting, competing with the much-revered G34 and boasting what some deem to be a better trigger.

Glad I have the original PPQ. Looks like they discontinued the paddle release model

I haven't been interested in the new Walther due to my satisfaction with my HK P-30. Now that 5" version has me interested...What's the deal with the "Navy" version? Finish only?

Some folks, myself included actually find a longer barrel degrades performance. It can "hang" in recoil and dip below the sight line upon lockup. It certainly gives a longer sight radius, but the other factors can only be determined by a timer and multiple range trips. I did plenty of timer work on a 5" gun and in my hands the P30 is better. YMMV, just some food for thought

That sounds like something that can be tweaked with recoil spring tweaking.

A push-button magazine release? Even as a recent convert to Glock I find it... disturbing.

As uninspiring as Walther's recent products are, this, this speaks to me.

A "Made in Germany" Walther PPK/S in .22LR? Yes please.
