    Distance to Your Preferred Range?

How far do you have to drive to your preferred range? Mine is about 9 miles from my house. It is an outdoor range run by the local gun club.

I have an indoor range approx 3 miles from my house but I NEVER go there. Something about not wanting to get shot by one of the idiots prevents it.

My local outdoor private club is 12 miles driveway to gate. It's an easy drive too, none of that DC traffic to contend with. It's pretty fantastic as members have their own keys to the gate and we can let ourselves in as we please, dawn to dusk and Sundays after NOON.

18 miles through DC traffic, which is 30 to 60 minutes depending on the time and/or day of the week.

Probably only in regards to the quality of the range and the amount of ammo you have.

Actually, it's taken me more than 2hr on a few occasions. One little fender bender or, heaven forbid, a dusting of snowflakes and the entire Beltway comes to a grinding halt.
