I think the 73s are easier to mod into race guns with short stroke kits and the like than 92s are. Maybe?
A few years ago I couldn't find a Miroku 92 anywhere. Now they're showing up on GB but none here locally in the stores. I was hoping to be able to finger one before I bought it but I don't think that's going to happen. For some reason nobody around here sells Miroku rifles. Maybe the profit margin just isn't there. I think I would have better luck finding a 73 or maybe an old 94 in 30 Win. I'm not set up reload 30-30 but I have plenty of W-748. I may be running out of time for a Miroku 92 or 73 with the tariffs kicking in.
In the P-F basket of deplorables.

The 73's are more slick but the 92's are cheaper. I never did like the "gamming" part of the CAS games...but slick is slick.

Ive shot a few of them, and it was fun, but it wasnt really a thing I was truly into. I had a huge amount of fun shooting an SA revolver in a few modern steel plate shoots. It was also interesting to confirm with timers that I shot revolvers better than I could shoot a 1911 on the plates, even an SA revolver I could shoot better and quicker scores so long as reloads werent part of it (5-6 plates).

I would shoot levers and DA and SA revolvers in more modern-ish shoots if there were some close enough and my back was up to it at the moment. I believe there used to be some sort of hunters/practical field shoot type of thing in the past, I think it has morphed into super precision long range field shoots now, but a more modest ranged one involving pistols and iron or classic type scoped rifles out to 300-400 yards would be great fun. I think they were a walk and shoot type thing.

That’s popped up in my feed several times recently, I’ll probably watch it tonight.

Yeap, my time CAS shooting was very short...spent the rest of my time researching.

Nice, looks like youve been busy. I like the looks of the Accurate Mold36-169D in the link.

FWIW, I know of a Marlin 357 octagon sitting on the shelf of an LGS. No idea of details, but the price was $1k
